Norfolk Historic Buildings Group
was formed to bring together all those who appreciate old buildings and who want to learn more about them. We aim to collect and record information about Norfolk's historic buildings, and to share this information through talks, group visits, training exercises, workshops, publications.

Parish Registers - FreeGen
The parish registers of both St Peter and St Mary have been transcribed in part and records are available to search for on this web site. The transcription of these registers is in progress. The original registers are housed in the Noroflk Record Office

Faden's Norfolk Map
The map was the first large-scale map (at one inch to the mile) of the whole county and shows the landscape just prior to Parliamentary Enclosure of the early 19th century. Surveyed between 1790 and 1794 the map was published in 1797 in London by William Faden, Geographer to His Majesty. Within 15 years of the map’s publication the extensive commons, heaths and warrens had largely disappeared.

The Federation exists to help co-ordinate activities between societies and to enable the sharing of information. The web site contains a listing of a very large number of Norfolk Historical Societies

This is the ideal place to research family and local history. It is situated on the second floor of the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library and combines in one convenient location the collections of the Norfolk Studies Library with many of the Norfolk Record Office’s resources on microfilm and microfiche.
